ok... it's a bit racy... but .... enjoy....

A HUNTER AND HIS FRIEND WERE SITTING ...

A HUNTER AND HIS FRIEND WERE SITTING IN A TALL TOWER STAND NEAR HIGHWAY 481 IN MAVERICK CO., TX, EARLY ONE COLD DECEMBER MORNING.

SUDDENLY, A HUGE BUCK WALKED OUT OVER THE CORN THEY HAD SPREAD IN THE SHRUB W/A TAILGATE FEEDER.

MOVING QUICKLY, THE HUNTER CAREFULLY AIMED THE LEUPOLD SCOPE ON HIS .300 WIN MAG AT THE UNSUSPECTING BUCK. AS HE WAS ABOUT TO SQUEEZE THE TRIGGER ON THIS DEER OF A LIFETIME, HIS FRIEND ALERTED HIM TO A FUNERAL PROCESSION PASSING SLOWLY DOWN HIGHWAY 481.

THE HUNTER PULLED AWAY FROM THE GUNSTOCK, SET THE RIFLE DOWN, TOOK OFF HIS HAT, BOWED HIS HEAD, AND THEN CLOSED HIS EYES IN PRAYER.

HIS FRIEND WAS STUNNED. "WOW, THAT IS THE MOST THOUGHTFUL AND TOUCHING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN YOU DO. YOU ARE INDEED THE KINDEST MAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN, AND I FEEL LUCKY TO CALL YOU A FRIEND."

THE HUNTER SHRUGGED. "YEAH, WELL, WE WERE MARRIED FOR 35 YEARS."

ah yes.... and the beat goes on and on.... sure we all know someone like this.. haha.. have a great day!

Going to try it again

we tried before & din't make it!

Porter Wagner has gone to his maker

(Porter Wagner sings 'I'll Fly Away'. mp3)

Country Star Porter Wagoner, 80, Diesanother great one,,,,,,,,,,,he will be missed in the country stars,,,,,,,,,,,,,rest in peace.

Porter Wagner has gone to his maker. He was 80.

Many Tennesseans, of a certain age, will definitely remember Mr. Wagner and his TV show. He brought Dolly Parton along with a lot of great country/western/gospel music to our living rooms. Apparently he influenced the Grateful Dead as well.

"We (the Dead) were getting off of that psychedelic run that we were on,” said Hunter, who watched the show each week with Garcia in Northern California. “We had evolved from bluegrass and old-timey bands, but what we didn’t know was country & western, or whatever it was that Dolly and Porter were doing. So a little bit of Nashville moved into the Bay Area, and it was like nothing I’d ever seen.”

Hunter eventually made his way backstage at the Opry, where he told that story to Mr. Wagoner, who smiled and said, “Well, I never did hear nothing by that Grateful Dead that I didn’t like.”

NINETEEN SOMETHINGS TO SAY TO CHILDREN

NINETEEN SOMETHINGS TO SAY TO CHILDREN

1. I love you! There is nothing that will make me stop loving you. Nothing you could do or say or think will ever change that.

2. You are amazing! I look at you with wonder! Not just at what you can do, but who you are. There is no one like you. No one!

3. It's all right to cry. People cry for all kinds of reasons: when they are hurt, sad, glad, or worried; when they are angry, afraid, or lonely. Big people cry too. I do.

4. You've made a mistake. That was wrong. People make mistakes. I do. Is it something we can fix? What can we do? It's all over. You can start fresh. I know you are sorry. I forgive you.

5. You did the right thing. That was scary or hard. Even though it wasn't easy, you did it. I am proud of you; you should be too.

6. I'm sorry. Forgive me. I made a mistake.

7. You can change your mind. It's good to decide, but it is also fine to change.

8. What a great idea! You were really thinking! How did you come up with that? Tell

me more. Your mind is clever!

9. That was kind. You did something helpful and thoughtful for that person. That must make you feel good inside. Thank you!

10. I have a surprise for you. It's not your birthday. It's for no reason at all. Just a surprise, a little one, but a surprise.

11. I can wait. We have time. You don't have to hurry this time.

12. What would you like to do? It's your turn to pick. You have great ideas. It's important to follow your special interests.

13. Tell me about it. I'd like to hear more. And then what happened? I'll listen.

14. I'm right here. I won't leave without saying good-bye. I am watching you. I am listening to you.

15. Please and Thank You. These are important words. If I forget to use them, will you remind me?

16. I missed you. I think about you when we are not together!

17. Just try. A little bit. One taste, one step. You might like it. Let's see. I'll help you if you need it. I think you can do it.

18. I'll help you. I heard you call me, here I am. How can I help you? If we both work together, we can get this done. I know you can do it by yourself, but I'm glad to help since you asked.

19. What do you wish for? Even if it's not yet time for birthday candles and we don't have a wishbone, it's still fun to hear about what you wish for, hope for, and dream about.

News of the day....

  1. Heather has some GREAT new photos and videos on her pages.. check out reddirtdiaries.com
  2. Help me encourage her to buy a better camera... she is truly great at getting the shot - now she just needs a better tool... haha... 'nough said... I am sure I will suffer for this.. haha...
  3. Did you hear....??? Young man who started Facebook in his room online, was offered 1 BILLION dollars for it from Yahoo and Turned It Down! Well, today Microsoft and he announced a new partnership between the two... folks are saying he got about the same dollars for half from them.... who knew... and this was started 4 years after myspace...
  4. One more did you hear... a town, I missed the name on news on fox this am, has before it a wondered resolution and are thinking of taking it and making it law... NO PRODUCTS FROM CHINA INSIDE THEIR CITY LIMITS ... OFFERED FOR SALE!! Now folks these are smart folks... Imagine how we are losing rights everyday... like no longer can one fight chickens, smoke... etc... things our fore fathers did everyday... and gave their lives to protect us from harm.... so they could enjoy... now finally someone is looking at something and realizing perhaps this is a smart move, to ban products from a country that is trying to kill us and take us over.... I bet if you looked at all the deaths related to products from china... ie, tires, cars, on and on.. you would be amazed at how many there are and NOTHING has been done... now one US city is taking a stand on something that should have a stand taken on...
  5. Austyn Moffat sold over 2600.00 dollars in popcorn for Cub Scouts this year.. I am sure he will be high seller....
  6. Jake is on regular hours with his welding business and he thinks this is ok.. but not making the do re me like when he works 60 to 70 hours a week... Trisha seems to like the idea of having him around.. haha... and these two are head over heals excited about the new baby coming.... I'd direct you to Jake and Trisha's blog... but ???? haha......
  7. Phil hurried home from work last evening so Tammy and Austyn could head to Pumpkin patch and gather a few... and they stopped by and left two nice big pumpkins for us... now I think we need some carvers to show up.... haha... Trisha wants to roast the seeds... did you see the Meer's 'Burger' on his site??? Phils Phamily Blog
  8. Jonathan called to report things are moving along there. The lady who was attacked by the dogs... and killed in Ada, ... her daughter worked with Randi, so Randi has had a busy time helping there all she can plus funeral, etc.. Jonathan has posted a photo of his new TEMP office for us to check out. Looks nicer than any thing I have ever had.... jonandrandi.com

All I know for now... here of the four who went to Branson... 3 have had sickness... Me - then Missy - Then Craig.... now I am wondering if the 'Rock of Gibraltar' will suffer... sure hope not - Ann NEVER gets sick, and if she does, NO ONE knows it.....

Some friends of ours, the McAnnllys are turning off the lights....

This photo says it all.... haha...

Our friends, Bob and Sharon Priess, go to the lake throughout the summer and pull their travel trailer and their boat. They were at the lake last weekend with Grandsons and the kiddos wanted to build a fort so Bob said have at it..... and they did...
I was telling Bob about our friends, the Hannan's, buying a nice travel trailer...

Bob remembered this photo on his camera and I had to pull it off for Craig and Missy. The kiddos built their fort and did not realize what they were building.... Craig, this is a photo of the 'redneck travel trailer wheel chock'... what a deal huh? just click photo to enlarge and see how this might work as a wheel block to stop a trailer from rolling... hahaha...

rock on... Bob says 'HI' to all....
