New rock star.... Austyn Lee Moffat in the studio...

Ok... time for Grandpa to brag some....

Rocker Austyn Lee Moffat, 9 years old, is shown in photo above at the Flatland Recording Studio at 44th and Perkins Road in Stillwater, OK. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, laying down tracks for his new ep release. He is shown here recording "Isabella", a song about his new cousin Isabella, which he wrote and arranged the music for along with Other Lives lead singer Jesse Tabish. Jessie was Austyn's first guitar teacher and had a large influence in encouraging Austyn to "find his own voice" in music, which he has done quite well. Austyn wrote the words and music to "Cushing" about a field trip his class took to Cushing, OK. (I am sure there is a much longer title, but working in this field one learns to shorten things... haha). He recorded it as well.

Austyn was worked in after No Justice finished up their pre production on their new cd and the Chad Sullins Band finishing up a new cd for them, so the equipment was hot and things all fell into place.

Tony Pearce served as Sound Engineer and Producer of the recording. Tony is also Nick Gibson Band Harmony singer, Acoustic guitarist, and a great musician in his own right.

Ryan Reid, lead singer for the Ryan Reid Band, also assisted with equipment and in taking photos for Austyn's Grandpa, who was under the gun to get paychecks issued to artists, so he did not get to watch very long or even help.

Greg Pearce, owner of GP Management, said of Austyn after listening to his music... "Wow!" "Austyn has a lot of knowledge of the basics, and some you can not teach folks, they just have to know it, why I know artists that are mid life and don't have timing or syncing like he does, even on pitch!!"

Now if I can just get him signed to Redbud Entertainment before he signs with someone else... sigh...

Austyn ... I am very proud of how you handled your first recording session. I know pro's that couldn't walk in and in the time you spent do even a 10th as much as you did! Congrats on your first record! Now we need two more songs from you to make a full ep. Let me know if you want to do such. Gp M
