I started reading on on the 4th page, just past the acknowledgements is where it tells of Cain and Able and that Cain slain Able. I believe if Able had my wife's shotgun, he would have never died! What we need is more common sense, not more laws. The criminals do not need background checks or a waiting period. Cash does it for them. I believe that there are some parents of the West Virginia students who were killed who wish that at least one of the Professors there had a gun and perhaps some of the 33 dead might still be alive. I believe if Gifford had been trained in self defense and licensed to carry and had her gun with her, the outcome might be completely different."

Almost all mass killings in the USA have happened where guns are banned. College campus or Post Office... etc.
Perhaps it's time to understand one simple thing. Criminals have guns and can get them easily. Most citizens, yours truly included, don't own because nothing is going to happen to them, and when it does happen, they might give their right arm for one, or the right to have one on them when needed.
Criminals do not ask, they assume they need protection... law abiding citizens don't ask, they assume they will never need protection, and at the very right... are those who think the government will protect them...
So, with this premise, let's look at the local city. Police are grossly understaffed, and underpaid due to the idiotic "City Manager?" , who does not understand a thing about management. Then there is the same nut who allowed the local ambulance service to be placed in the hands of a small company over hour and half away with a dispatch center in Texarkana... to service our needs, (small companies don't go bankrupt, or the phone lines or towers never go down to interrupt communications, sigh) when we have an award winning service right here right now, who has won many awards for their professional, quality, and fast service... the best in the Nation in its area!!! And we think only Washington makes dumb moves... haha, starts at home with some of the folks who rise to the top, and have not a clue what they are doing...
On this public service note... did you know the AWESOME Perkins Voluntary Fire Department is getting ready to build a state of the art 2nd station just East of the High School on highway 33, North side? This is one of the most progressive, active, and best managed and with some of the best training in operations and safety in Oklahoma, probably in the Southwest!! Long ways from jumping in the back of pickup trucks and chasing the fire truck to the local fires, that I helped out on several times in my youth... haha.
I am extremely proud of these young men. They chose to give to their community the time of their lives to make us safe and protect us.
Anyway... Protect yourselves, the criminals are!
PS. Texas Gov says... No one wants me for President. If I was elected I would work to make the Federal Government so small and inconsequential in America's lives, they'd never know it was there!
The good ones NEVER run for office, they are too smart! haha.
