And we
hurried home so Heather and Andrew to get to the Annual Policemen/Firefighters ballgame in Stillwater so Andrew could cheer his Dad on... and we ate a quick bite, Phil stopped by and thank goodness he did because we would have been late to Andrews opening game.... we thought the time was 7:20 and it was 7:10... and after running by Tiger to get me some Meds... we made it to Andrews season opener... of Coach Pitch baseball.
this was the most touching part of that stop.... you just have to see it to feel it... and I learned about Street Hitches, something that I did not know ever existed in our world, yet I can remember Dad talking about feeding the horses at 530am when he was young so his brothers and Dad could get to the fields and how they could lay out the harness and the horses would find their places and stand while they were hitched up...
At the museum, there are pictures of this event with horses at the OKC Fire Dept. where they are demonstrating this event.
there are many days in my life when my nose feels as long as this anteaters nose!! He was cool, moving so slow and I know he was wondering if some of us 'peoples' would fit up his nose... haha... more later on the zoo trip as I get time...... but for now... this is a start.. and then.... after the zoo, we stopped by the Oklahoma Firefighters Museum in OKC with Heather and Andrew.....
Yesterday was a wonderful day....
We have had a wonderful run as Grandparents lately... wow.... How luck Ann and I are.
We got together with Jon, Randi, Kaitlyn and Dylan along with Heather and Andrew and Madison and Jake and Trisha last Saturday to share some time with the grand kids... watching them play and grow.. especially grow is truly something. What a very special time this is... and those times are truly numbered and won't be around forever, and we know this too.
Anyway there are photos from that special day online, and then yesterday we went with Andrew on his Zoo Trip with his class from Skyline School in Stillwater.
What a time we had. I have not been to the zoo since being there last when the kids were little, and I mean little! How the place has grown. And to be honest I loved the flowers and trees as much as the animals... they have done an amazing job with the trees and flowers and other plants.
Anyway... we were waiting for the yellow school buses to pull up like all the other schools... and to our surprise... the Big Blue Pioneer School buses pulled up.... how cool....
