almost see her shadow

ok...boys and girls... I just had a guy pull in and want to by a 100 pounds of pork chop 100....

like we have been closed since 2002! amazing.. then, he proceeds to tell me that I need to take my sign down, and when I tell him I don't want to as I have another business here .... he says well then paint on it the new information, I share that if I had the money I would, joking of course... just for him.... then I thank him for sharing with me how I should run my business... and as he storms off, I mention that I didn't remember him from my many customers of 21 years, so that might be why we had to close.. we missed his business so much... ( I wonder how many folks go to the three story tall building on the east side of main between 8th and 9th expecting to find Gates Furniture there, like the faded sign on the side of building says... sigh... go figure)

ok.. maybe this was not the best way to handle things.. but ... if you were here.. .it was kind of funny.. .haha... later... clearing skies and lightning from one side of the clearing sky to the other.. wow.. what a show. and now the 20 degree temp. drop from 74 to 54... all i know for now.. enjoy...

Oh my goodness....

for the first time since we put in our outdoor 'fraidy' hole..... we were in it. A loud clap of lightning and a very resounding thunder almost on top of it woke me up and I hit the floor, turned on the tv and heard ole' David Payne, yes he was still on the air... say that a tornado could form at any time... so ... I woke up a very upset Ann, she told me to get Jake and Trisha, we did, and head for the cellar... and in about 15 mins it was past... but we talked with Great Grandma who was in her cellar, and Phil and his family who were in their cellar and Paul who said they were A-Ok... so we all made it thru.... but you know.. that was the first time since spending the money that we used something we had for the first time and it was about 20 years ago when we put it in... haha... wow! but they say, when you need it .. you need it! (Ann and I were worried all the excitement might cause Isabella to want to come out... hahaha.. but to no avail... !)
Stay safe, with one eye on the weather today... once cold front is by us, we should be ok for few days... we did get about a half inch of rain all at once and dime size hail... some growing to quarter size during the worst of the storm

this and that...

Had a great visit the other day with an old friend, Owen Walker, who stopped by to say hello. I have known Owen since he and his brother and father cut our wheat the first year we lived here (1961).
Owen's son Scott runs the warehouse where Ann works. He is a very nice young man and Owen and Connie should be very proud of him... and of course his sister, Becky, who is extension agent in charge of the 4-H program among other things in and around Ada, OK. She has won all kinds of awards, etc. for her outstanding work...
Ann and I been cleaning up the lots to the east of our home heading towards our 'spring'. We wanted to try to bring this grass into the yard and make a big area for the kids to play if we can. Been shopping for a Wi this week too, might have to get one for the grandkids to play... when here too.
Garden has not come up.. might have to replant all but the onions, will have to see, if it ever rains. Grandpa's tractor service came out and smoothed up Jakes yard around their home some. He is a really nice man and does good work.
Ann and I have some bulbs to plant... but will see...
Jonathan and family were here for a few hours Saturday. Randi had a baby shower to attend and her and the kiddos went to it and Jon visited with us. When it was over, Randi and kiddos came by to pick up Jon... They stayed for a bit and then headed out to get back home and do lots of things that needed done... They are going to look for a new home in and around Ada I think. Cost of Gasoline saved might help make the payment... Great to see them if only for a bit..!
Miss my cattle... we have lots of green pasture this spring and not one cow.. sigh... wow... need some butcher calves or something, haha...
Paul and his brother Chris and Dad Roy went to sale Saturday and the boys bought a cattle trailer, very clean and nice, all lights work... etc.. and paid about half what it was worth, so they got a great deal... Good to see Roy and Chris and Paul too...
Welp, all I know for now.. off to the races.. haha..
have a great day

These two ... will soon become three, their lives being changed forever and ever... oh yes, I remember when.. haha..

mmm good ole ice house pepperjack burger

bragging time...

Jake has lost a lot of weight and swears he is going to stop at 220... wow, he sure is looking great!!

I just walked 4.25 miles this am averaging 17.75 mins per mile in tall grass and weeds and uneven ground, and in 24 mph wind with gust to 38 the mesonet says... wow... No wonder I am pooped! haha...

How bout these apples... within 36 hours Ann ate breakfast in Stillwater, OK., attended a business meeting in New Jersey, at dinner there and got up ate breakfast there, attended another meeting and ate dinner with me last night.. sign of the times huh??? haha...

now she is trying to figure out how to get rid of me.. haha...

Photo taken on Easter Sunday before Easter Egg Hunt... but....

Yesterday Jake and Trisha went to Dr. for their "weekly" visit now... and he said she was dilated about 1cm. and that he could easily touch Isabella's head... and he was very surprised, so he was thinking he might or might not see them next Wednesday... Jake said... now this is the farmer in him... the Doc just did a "Cow Exam on her"... very well put.. haha... so we have the calf puller and chain disinfected and standing by... haha... Trisha has her bag packed... and is "through" being pregnant and is ready to be 'Momie' for a change. The baby has truly dropped a lot and I am sure she may be ready to come out... I wonder if she has her bag packed?

I can tell you that the look on Madison's face could relate to this as she is ready for Isabella to be here too... and smiles when talking of her, and Jake's ... "just being cool" look will change and Trisha's 'blank' stare... will change as well, and will become a look of amazement and wonder and love when little Isabella Ann arrives... and two... become three.

We are all excited. Ann got back from NJ and was glad nothing happened while she was gone... she did not want to miss a thing. She remarked she had been there for all the others and was not going to miss Isabella's arrival either... maybe she knows something we all don't... haha...

Enjoy this awesome day... live as if you had not other... and don't forget to smile... and tell a friend how much they mean to ya...
Love to all...
