No matter how one looked at the thunderstorm, it was awesome... and hugh... 

Last night there was a chance of rain... haha.. yelp very small chance, and this thunderhead blew up south of us and there are some awesome shots of the towering clouds.. but you had to be there to appreciate it.... 

Went to see Monty Harper of Stillwater preform at the Stillwater Library yesterday with Ann and Heather and Andrew. He was GREAT!  

Don't know what type of flower or shrub this is, but it is blinding in the sun! I was headed into my office when this caught my eye and I had to go back and take some photos of it.. BEAUTIFUL... enjoy the day!

Well, what a Saturday Ann and I had! I started out walking my 8 miles and then worked my way through the photos to load online. Jon called about 10 and said to meet them in OKC for lunch at Olive Garden across from Penn Square... and YOU KNOW we could not say no to an Olive Garden dining experience coupled with seeing our grand daughter Kaitlyn and visiting with Jon and Randi... so off we went. As we headed out the door, I looked at all the tires, and the drivers side was a bit low compared to others, but hey... so what, right! So off we went. We ran by the bank, and headed to OKC, arriving there at about 11:35 and made our way to the appointed meeting place. Jon and family joined us about 12:10 and we ordered... ate, and my steak was cooked well done.. and I ordered medium rare... so they made me smile, and we enjoy lunch as the pics will show you... and our short visit with Kaitlyn.. and we said our goodbyes and Jon's headed off to SAMS and mom and I headed to Epperson's Camera... I wanted to see about video camera ... for doing interviews with PCL, etc. and as we parked we noticed the drivers tire has a piece of it coming loose. But, being true campers, haha, we went into the store... got what we needed, came out and headed to find a walmart... which we did and after 2.5 hours wait, the little man made us smile by replacing both tires on the front for only half the price of one!! We then headed home, by way of Radio Shack and of course it is now 7pm.. so CiCi's.. close to Stillwater Radio Shack... and home by 8! This is not the kind of day we had planned, it was good we went by the bank... and good we went to Epperson's... or we might have been headed home with a tire that would have blown out in the heat and .... ok, haha, fast driving!! So in the end, if Jon had not called and we had not got to see Kaitlyn and Randi and Jon... Ann might have had a blow out on the way to work... and she would have been fit to be tied!!! So, all in all... it was a GREAT DAY! Thanks Jonathan, for the invite!! Enjoy the day... maybe it will rain some, huh?

Some gave all so others might enjoy the dawning of a new day... bet ole willey coyoteeee is a happy camper after eating this muscle... haha... probably licking his chops and missing the view, you reckon'? haha... 

What a beautiful sunrise on Moffat Pond! I made a couple of videos of it too, and will put online later.. enjoy... the fish were jumping this am too...  

Don't know what these bugs are, but they kind'a look serious and ready... more pics of them online.. they look like they have about a 2 inch pine needle snout.... the color caught my eye....

Another awesome sunrise on Moffat Farm! Enjoy the day... I know I will. 

the Sun's rays, the stillness of the hour, the dew moving across the water, the reflecting pond.... and the awesome sky!! What a great start to an awesome day!! 

Once in a while along comes a money shot. There are several in this batch, hope you enjoy. The sunrise at the double pond was especially awesome... this am and the colors were all out in force 

Now this is awesome! Austyn and Zoe playing this am... never dreamed I might capture a photo of them this good, as they were all over the place playing!! What an awesome Grandson Austyn is! Now if I can get him to treat Zoe as "loving" as they are here.. haha.. enjoy the day! I sure have!! 

Such a small plant for so many awesome colors and especially in the morning when I walk my appointed rounds....

I have tried and tried and tried to get a photo of this wildflower... and got'er done this am on my walkabout! Isn't it pretty? What a great way to start a day, even if it is hot and dry! I am now walking 8 miles a day, and loving every bit of it! God Bless... enjoy the day! 

Star-Spangled Cheeseburgers



Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup honey mustard
8 slices American cheese
8 hamburger buns, split
Romaine lettuce, tomato slices

Instructions:
1. Combine mayonnaise and mustard. Cut star shapes from cheese with cookie cutter.
2. Lightly shape ground beef into eight 1/2-inch thick patties. Place patties on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, uncovered, 11 to 13 minutes to medium (160�F) doneness, until not pink in center and juices show no pink color, turning occasionally. Season with salt and pepper after turning. About 1 minute before burgers are done, top with cheese stars.
3. Serve in buns with sauce, lettuce and tomato.

Makes 8 servings.

 

Welp, got to head out to walk this am... found these yesterday afternoon... just before the storm, that did not develop!! and the rain that did not come! Enjoy the day! 

Ruth, from Uncle Ivan

Ruth went to her mail box and there was only one letter.

She picked it up and looked at it before opening, but then she looked at the envelope again.

There was no stamp, no postmark, only her name and address.

She read the letter:

Dear Ruth:
I`m going to be in your neighborhood Saturday afternoon and I'd like to stop by for a visit.
Love Always,
Jesus

Her hands were shaking as she placed the letter on the table. "Why would the Lord want to visit me? I'm nobody special. I don't have anything to offer."

With that thought, Ruth remembered her empty kitchen cabinets.

"Oh my goodness, I really don't have anything to offer. I'll have to run down to the store and buy something for dinner."

She reached for her purse and counted out its contents. Five dollars and forty cents.

Well, I can get some bread and cold cuts, at least."

She threw on her coat and hurried out the door.

A loaf of French bread, a half-pound of sliced turkey, and a carton of milk... leaving Ruth with grand total twelve cents to last her until Monday.

Nonetheless, she felt good as she headed home, her meager offerings tucked under her arm.

"Hey lady, can you help us,lady?"

Ruth had been so absorbed in her dinner plans, she hadn't even noticed two figures huddled in the alleyway.

A man and a woman, both of them dressed in little more than rags.

"Look lady, I ain't got a job, ya know, and my wife and I have been living out here on the street, and, well, now it's getting cold and we're getting kinda hungry and, well, if you could help us. Lady, we'd really appreciate it."

Ruth looked at them both.

They were dirty, they smelled bad and frankly, she was certain that they could get some kind of work if
they really wanted to.

"Sir, I'd like to help you, but I'm a poor woman myself. All I have is a few cold cuts and some bread, and I'm having an important guest for dinner tonight and I was planning on serving that to Him."

"Yeah, well, okay lady, I understand. Thanks anyway."

The man put his arm around the woman's shoulders, turned and headed back into the alley.

As she watched them leave, Ruth felt a familiar twinge in her heart.

"Sir, wait!"

The couple stopped and turned as she ran down the alley after them.

"Look, why don't you take this food. I'll figure out something else to serve my guest."

She handed the man her grocery bag.

"Thank you lady. Thank you very much!"

"Yes, thank you!" It was the man's wife, and Ruth could see now that she was shivering.

"You know, I've got another coat at home.

Here, why don't you take this one."

Ruth unbuttoned her jacket and slipped it over the woman's shoulders.

Then smiling, she turned and walked back to the street...without her coat and with nothing to serve her guest.

"Thank you lady!

Thank you very much!"

Ruth was chilled by the time she reached her front door, and worried too.

The Lord was coming to visit and she didn't have anything to offer Him.

She fumbled through her purse for the door key. But as she did, she noticed another envelope in her mailbox.

"That's odd. The mailman doesn't usually come twice in one day."

Dear Ruth:
It was so good to see you again.
Thank you for the lovely meal.
And thank you, too, for the beautiful coat.

The air was still cold, but even without her coat, Ruth no longer noticed.
