Well, Well, Well.....
What a crazy last 24 hours and still three days to go...
We had 75 degrees yesterday afternoon. I filled up our wood rick holder with dried wood from several places around the yard, trying to walk as much as I could. I know, you are shocked by that, haha, so was I!!! Anyho... got that done, and sweating, I headed to the house and turned on the AC. Now... fast foward to this am. Heather called last evening and needed a hand with Andrew today so we kept him this am, and at 5:30am I was outside covering the wood with a half tarp... and it was freezing and starting to spit a bit and 27 degrees, it's now 21 and wind chill of about 9 degrees... at 10 am Heather sent out a note that OSU was closing at noon and told us at 11am she was heading out to get Andrew. The roads are a mess, it is sleeting like crazy, Ann and I were to head to Tulsa to the He wears Black show that a friend of ours is putting on at Cain's tonight, but ... we are not now doing such... I went in weather like this when I had the feed store, don't have to now, so just not going too.... Jake headed home at 9am for today and tomorrow, no work for him, they told him those old steel rigs are death traps when coated with ice... so he said all the welders from out of state were heading home for a few days... and he was going to go home and work on his music.. he is to start recording a new official CD in a few days and have it ready to lay down in Nashville by mid March... that is only 8 weeks from now.. so he had to make tracks.. He bought a new truck, a used Dodge to get around in, and not have to use his expensive new welding truck all the time. He seems happier than ever before... kind'a like a man with things going his way, for a change! I bet Jon will head home before long, however, Ada is to get a lot of rain that we will not get... Ann and I are home, enjoying our new wood fireplace... it is toasty inside, but not too hot. Zoe is curled up beside it on her bed, and Marvin the cat thinks he still should be able to get on top of it... but he sure gets off of it in a hurry when we are using it... haha...
Well, all I know for now, everyone be safe and enjoy the storm! S

The Little Things... sometimes, they are the biggest!
My lovely wife taught me a very valuable lesson early in our friendship that has stayed with me throughout my life. We should always "look" around and see the beauty in the little things as well as the big things. This is what I was seeing in this photo.... the little red among all the green! How proud it must have been to stand so tall, while being completely opposite of everything around it! To me and my vision, it was indeed the tallest thing around! Enjoy the day by living it to your fullest cuz it just might be your last! Love to all... S
