ok... it's a bit racy... but .... enjoy....

A HUNTER AND HIS FRIEND WERE SITTING ...

A HUNTER AND HIS FRIEND WERE SITTING IN A TALL TOWER STAND NEAR HIGHWAY 481 IN MAVERICK CO., TX, EARLY ONE COLD DECEMBER MORNING.

SUDDENLY, A HUGE BUCK WALKED OUT OVER THE CORN THEY HAD SPREAD IN THE SHRUB W/A TAILGATE FEEDER.

MOVING QUICKLY, THE HUNTER CAREFULLY AIMED THE LEUPOLD SCOPE ON HIS .300 WIN MAG AT THE UNSUSPECTING BUCK. AS HE WAS ABOUT TO SQUEEZE THE TRIGGER ON THIS DEER OF A LIFETIME, HIS FRIEND ALERTED HIM TO A FUNERAL PROCESSION PASSING SLOWLY DOWN HIGHWAY 481.

THE HUNTER PULLED AWAY FROM THE GUNSTOCK, SET THE RIFLE DOWN, TOOK OFF HIS HAT, BOWED HIS HEAD, AND THEN CLOSED HIS EYES IN PRAYER.

HIS FRIEND WAS STUNNED. "WOW, THAT IS THE MOST THOUGHTFUL AND TOUCHING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN YOU DO. YOU ARE INDEED THE KINDEST MAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN, AND I FEEL LUCKY TO CALL YOU A FRIEND."

THE HUNTER SHRUGGED. "YEAH, WELL, WE WERE MARRIED FOR 35 YEARS."

ah yes.... and the beat goes on and on.... sure we all know someone like this.. haha.. have a great day!

We were celebrating Missy Hannan's XX**&&^^%%CC birthday. She even got to ride the saddle while everyone sang happy bday to her... not sure who was more embarrased... Maybe her son Reese??? haha.... man if he follows his Mom and not his Dad... wow.. Katy, bar the door!!! Anyho.... great time had by all. I left my camera at home thinking my cell would do the honors of photos.. but NOOOOOOOOOO not one turned out... sorry to everyone.. next time you will have to get a man to do the job....
We had a great visit and lots of good food... and then it was off to the races...

Jake had taken Trisha to Drs. yesterday - her not feeling well... sent her home with meds and told her to rest ... called it sinus infection.. she doubled up on meds by mistake and was sick all nite and morning Jake reported... wow... hope she is better now..

All I know.. another pretty fall day here in OK. Could always use some more rain... but hey... I might gripe if I was hung with new rope, right... ?

Going to try it again

we tried before & din't make it!

Porter Wagner has gone to his maker

(Porter Wagner sings 'I'll Fly Away'. mp3)

Country Star Porter Wagoner, 80, Diesanother great one,,,,,,,,,,,he will be missed in the country stars,,,,,,,,,,,,,rest in peace.

Porter Wagner has gone to his maker. He was 80.

Many Tennesseans, of a certain age, will definitely remember Mr. Wagner and his TV show. He brought Dolly Parton along with a lot of great country/western/gospel music to our living rooms. Apparently he influenced the Grateful Dead as well.

"We (the Dead) were getting off of that psychedelic run that we were on,” said Hunter, who watched the show each week with Garcia in Northern California. “We had evolved from bluegrass and old-timey bands, but what we didn’t know was country & western, or whatever it was that Dolly and Porter were doing. So a little bit of Nashville moved into the Bay Area, and it was like nothing I’d ever seen.”

Hunter eventually made his way backstage at the Opry, where he told that story to Mr. Wagoner, who smiled and said, “Well, I never did hear nothing by that Grateful Dead that I didn’t like.”
