Yesterday, Thanksgiving 2010, was amazing for both Ann and I. We had our family together and as usual it was fantastic! How lucky we are to be able to enjoy each other's company even for a few hours every once in a while.
With Jonathan's family experiencing sickness with kiddos, they did not make it, but we thought of them, and missed them. We did get to visit with them via Facetime on Iphone, thank you Mr. Jobs, for this amazing technology. We got to see and talk with Kaitlyn, Dylan and Jonathan at the same time last night and it was overwhelming to do this - almost like they were in the same room with us!!
It was a great day. The kiddos got along well. So did the adults, smiling... yelp, even me, ha ha....
So, with all the great food and good times, etc. we are now on the lookout for Christmas, 2010. Can't wait...

Would have only one thing more to say... Please keep Christ in Christmas! The real meaning of God sending us His Son should not be lost in all the chaos of the season.

Stop and think about it for it's real meaning.
Think how big, how amazing, how overwhelming to mankind it must be to accept the fact that God our Father sent his Son to us knowing he would be crucified as a young man, never being allowed to grow old... Would you give up yours?

I know, I can hear it now, enough with the preaching.. ha ha...

so with that, just please, remember, it's Christ's birth - not the presents, that we are celebrating.

Again - amazing day yesterday. Thanks to everyone for everything. Ann and I have a wonderful, loving, giving family and we are thankful for every second we get to spend together!
Thank you very much for making Thanksgiving FANTASTIC!

RE: Reassessing the Bush Presidency
JENNIFER RUBIN - 11.17.2010 - 2:22 PM
I am so pleased that Pete linked to the video of Dick Cheney’s remarks. If you read the mainstream news accounts, you would have the sense that all he did was take a gentle poke at Obama — declaring the presidential center to be the “only-shovel ready project” in the country. What is interesting is that most of the seven minutes of remarks focused on George W. Bush, the man — a self-effacing, decent, “stand-up guy,” as Cheney described him. It’s important and not incidental to his legacy for a few reasons.

It is, quite frankly, a model of presidential behavior that has become obscured — by Clinton’s personal scandals, by Nixon’s criminality, and by Obama’s stand-offish partisanship. We expect our presidents to rise above the fray and not return invective in kind. Bush did this, unlike his successor, and it is a standard by which we should evaluate candidates and presidents.

Moreover, it was a fundamental part of his presidency and the substantive decisions he made. Why did he make such an effort to distinguish Islamic terrorists from ordinary, loyal American Muslims? Why did he refuse to cut and run in Iraq? Why did he hold allies dear and stand up to despots? It all comes, I would suggest, from a inner decency based on his religious faith. This is not to say that nonreligious people can’t be just as honorable. That’s not the point. The issue here is to understand why Bush would, for example, refuse to give in to anti-immigration sentiment, would put so much stock in faith-based programs, and would make the freedom agenda central to his foreign policy. All of these are reflections of his core personality.

Why was he so misunderstood? It wasn’t simply that liberal critics despised his policies. It is that they never “got” or took seriously his inner motives. They preferred to concoct arm-chair-psychology fictions about his relationship with his father or to paint him as a know-nothing.

It isn’t surprising, then, that the media didn’t report on the central message of Cheney’s speech. Many of those reporters consider it a fluff or boilerplate message. But once again, they miss the most important point — the explanation for who Bush is and why he did what he did. The media has a remarkable ability to ignore the obvious.

If you are crunched for time, start this at the 30 second mark.... and keep in mind,

Keep in mind, this is a US Senator...

A US senator takes an oath to protect the US constitution. He then signs a copy of that oath
I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic...
First amendment was created to in response to the English Kings control over religion and political discourse.
A US senator, Directly opposing the Constitution is a violation of his oath. He is a domestic threat to the constitution. The Senate must remove him.

This man proves the point that not all mankind should reproduce!

if we keep the population in the dark we can better do the peoples work.

As a farmer, the fox guarding the hen house comes to mind.... or wondering if we had no one telling us how things really are, as if we can't feel it everyday, just how bad would they be.

This man also proves the point, there will be another election in two years and we need to throw all these leftovers out, and start anew...

thought like this can kill our country quickly. So arrogant, so above us the common folks, they think they know more... and in fact they know less. Explain how the 7 wealthiest counties in America surround Washington, DC?
you thoughts?

You have no doubt heard of "kick the bucket"... well, here is another version of that... haha...

in our yard... too the trees are wonderful...

Trees in front of Hauf's Salvage continue to be eye candy for us to enjoy!!!

Bella Dress Up to go to town with her Mom today...

just thinking ....

Today Governmental Motors.. GM...

what I think.. haha...   is that America got screwed again under Obubba's watch.

about 20 Billion in shares at 33.00 a share went on sale today.

now why does this matter.

WE - you and I - pay taxes to the US Government each year. The Government bought a private business with our money. 50 Billion of it. Under the watchful eye of Obubba, that company went belly up!  Now in order to repay the taxpayers, you and I, they restructured the company, bailed out the unions and sweetened their health insurance, gave them exemptions for the awesome obubba heathcare, and screwed the stockholders who owned the stock at 60 or higher and watched it go to zero... yes, if you owned 1000 shares at 60 a share in GM before bubba screwed it up, you now own zero and there is ... yes there is a GM, but you own nothing!

and even adding salt to that wound, you can not buy the new unless you are an institutional investor, the little man who might own a few share or even a 1000 shares can not buy into this... but China will own over 1% of it by end of the day, if not already.

So now, to buy from the USA things made in the USA to help the economy and put folks to work, we will have to surmise that we are also helping bail out China, even at one percent, it's more than it should be.

I have never seen one man do so much crap to run our country ever in my life.

The morons who thought Bush was bad... didn't have a clue how bad life could really be till now.

Bush will be a giant among men compared to the nut we have now. When you are broke, you do not spend money. You cut back. You don't go on worthless trips that cause more financial harm to your employer, etc.

going back to the 9 small businesses in our one mile on 177 South of Stillwater.

they have a gross revenue of over of over 80 million dollars. Employee over 417 people full time and 179 part time. have laid off 35% of their employees, cut part time to minimum, every business has had all take pay cuts, and each will tell you hard times are here, and will be here for a bit. of the 9 - 6 are not sure they will survive, as lending has truly dried up here. The 3 left, probably will make it because of outside money that is not tied to the business coming in, like oil and gas, etc. not from their businesses alone.

Wondering... Out loud...

If you wonder which set of numbers to believe on small business and extending the bush tax cuts....

In one mile on South Perkins Road south of Stillwater, there are 10 small businesses, all of which fall into the over 250000.00 income level. All have laid off employees. All have postponed building on, and all have not hired a person and will not do any of this unless the tax cuts are made permanent, or extended.

If you do the math, it does not take a very big business to have income in this bracket. This is what is not being told.

The other part not being talked about is the death tax and it's extension.

As of Jan. 01, 2011, the American public as a new partner in their estates. The government. As of that date, when you die, the government comes in for their 55% of your estate over 1 million dollars.

It does not take a lot to total to the million dollars these days. In our area, land has sold for 3000 to 10000 an acre.

Now, just take a quarter section, times high amount, and figure the tax, then imagine it was farm land and you had to farm it out... You would have to pay Uncle Sam 363,000 just to raise 4.00 dollar wheat or 500 dollar calves... Etc... Would take years just to pay off this one debt...

Now forget farming and imagine a nice home on a few acres... And a few stocks and small savings account... And your kids having to pay taxes just to get 45% of what you worked for your whole life...

I will stop here, but the next few weeks will determine a lot about what happens in the future...

If the bush tax cuts are not extended, those making under 250,000 will find their rate on taxes going from 10 to 15% this is not a 5% increase, but rather a 50% increase from 10%.
