The Harris Sparrows are everywhere, and yesterday it was Finch Day at the feeders... have not seen but one today, and a bunch of blue birds and Robins... wanting their share along with Cardinals, Junco's, Chickadees, and the Downy and Red Headed Woodpeckers... but no finches yet, nor pine siskins either... hum....

It's coming....

 

the birds say it's coming.. it's coming... they are having big day at the feeders... stay warm and safe!!

The Little Things... sometimes, they are the biggest!

My lovely wife taught me a very valuable lesson early in our friendship that has stayed with me throughout my life. We should always "look" around and see the beauty in the little things as well as the big things. This is what I was seeing in this photo.... the little red among all the green! How proud it must have been to stand so tall, while being completely opposite of everything around it! To me and my vision, it was indeed the tallest thing around! Enjoy the day by living it to your fullest cuz it just might be your last! Love to all... S

check out the approaching bird... looks like it might be a bit low... and sure enough, it went right on by.. haha.. even birds misjudge sometimes.. haha..

 

Have you heard of a gaggle of geese? Well, this might be the morning coffee crowd at Mom's Cafe, except... haha... The way the birds are attacking our feeders today makes me wonder, do they know something about the weather we don't?

had four of these monsters eating our bird seed this am... and teasing the dogs.. haha.. these two just stayed at it for a long time, like they knew something cold was coming...

the lead bird up high has actually started to roll and is upside down in spinning downward.... the rest are still flying..

 

and away they flew...

 

Grandma Ann and Madison let the roller pigeons go.... Nope, she is not afraid of much!

 


Andrew was digging holes and setting traps to catch some big game...

 

then it was back to climbing trees... and chasing dreams...

 

Ms. Madison was not tooooooo sure about coming down into the spillway between the two ponds. It is quite a ways down and it took Andrew about oh... 2 seconds to get to the bottom... haha.. but she was not very sure at all as you can see... by the look on her face!

 

Andrew was impressed that Jagger came along and then when he saw him jump in the pool and set in the middle of it, and it was cold, and.. well, how cool is that, Andrew wanted to know!
