You may be getting cabin fever with all the cold weather lately. Maybe you would like to plan a fun outing with family and friends to the Oklahoma City area. Here are some museums and events you may want to visit. There are a variety of exhibits and activities from which to choose.
Monet to Kooning are being exhibited at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art in downtown Oklahoma City. You can plan to lunch at their cafe, too. The Chihuly glass exhibit is now part of their permanent collection. www.okcmoa.com. (405) 235-6262.

Rushes to Statehood: The Oklahoma Land Runs is also on display at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
The Firehouse Art Center will hold its annual Chocolate Festival Feb. 2-3 at Norman High School. This is chocolate decadence at its very best! www.normanfirehouse.com. Get your tickets in advance by calling (405) 329-4523.
The Harn Homestead boasts several preserved farm buildings in the middle of Oklahoma City, not too far from the State Capitol. On Feb. 6, adults can make Victorian Valentines in a class there. www.harnhomestead.com. (405) 235-4058.
You may want to made the short drive to Perkins to see the Mike Larsen gallery on Main Street Perkins. Mike painted the beautiful landscape that graces the just released Oklahoma stamp. He was named 2006 Oklahoman of the Year by Oklahoma Today magazine, too. See his work and you may see him at work in his studio/gallery.
Don’t miss the Oklahoma Icons Centennial Exhibit at the Sheerar Museum at Seventh and Duncan. It is open afternoons Tuesday through Saturday.
