What Is A Mother ?
A Mother is a drier of tears,
A Mother bandages a little one`s knee,
A Mother chases away fears,
A Mother can be you and can be me.
A Mother is a chauffeur,
Sometimes a referee.
A mediator, doctor, teacher,
Aren`t you glad you`re one of these ?
Dirty hands,
Dirty walls.
Running noses,
Yelling and laughing in the halls.
Big sloppy kisses,
Bright, smiling, smudgy faces.
Buttoning up blouses,
And tying up shoe laces.
Blowing noses,
Making ponytails.
Emptying boys pockets,
Of rocks, gum, and snails.
We get no payment,
In monetary gain,
We get love, hugs, and kisses,
But with that we sure don`t complain.
Helping your daughter,
Get ready for her first date.
Sitting and worrying,
When the time is getting late.
Graduation Day is here,
They`re all dressed in cap and gown.
And now getting ready to party,
Dawn is when they`ll finally wind down.
All too soon her Dad,
Is giving away the bride.
Mom`s losing her little girl,
She wipes away a tear she can`t hide.
Soon you have grand babies,
Some boys and some girls.
In your heart you have enough room,
For each of those precious pearls.
Nothing compares to Motherhood,
There`s nothing I would trade it for.
The love you have for your children,
Makes your heart soar.
You don`t have to give birth to a child,
To have this feeling like no other.
Raising and caring for a child or children,
Gives you the title of Mother.
