NEW: Merc union says no to concessions
Mercury Marine workers in Fond du Lac, Wis., today voted no on a new wage and benefits proposal offered by Mercury Marine. The no vote signals that Stillwater operations could continue with possibly 600 more jobs infused into the community within the next two years. Union negotiators had said before the vote they would not support the concessions the company sought. Mercury Marine is looking to combine its Wisconsin and Oklahoma operations.
